Our History

In July 2001 a number of staff from the three South Australian universities attended TechTrain 2001, a conference for higher education technical staff covering a diversity of general and special interest areas including OH&S, quality management, staff development and IT. Upon returning to Adelaide the group discussed the possibility of forming a network of University staff to support the sharing of information and contact between technical staff within South Australia. The idea was based on TechNet at the Uni of NSW.

A steering committee of volunteer representatives from Adelaide University, Flinders University and The University of South Australia was established to promote technical staff development and support. The name of this network is TechNet SA.

The committee has successfully held:

  • an inaugural TechNet SA 1-day Forum in November 2002 at Flinders University
  • 1-day Forum in November 2003 at the UniSA Underdale Campus
